“Put your hand in mine and we will go to the mountain top”
Welcome to Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg’s Primary pages. Our pupils come from the town of Barry and surrounding areas. We are incredibly fortunate to have a new building which offers many opportunities and valuable experiences for our pupils. Our enthusiastic staff in the Primary work hard to support each child’s need and help them reach their full potential.
We are incredibly proud of our high standards and expectations. The staff work diligently to prepare enriching experiences for our pupils and to ensure that they are engaged and challenged to make the progress required to reach their attainment. The pupils will receive a host of different experiences at the school such as extra-curricular activities like sports and Urdd Eisteddfods.
Our aim as a school is to develop the child to be a confident and principled individual who are ready to play a prominent role in the school community and the community in which they live. It is of the utmost importance to us that they nurture an attitude of pride towards their Welshness and heritage. We ensure our pupils are courteous and respectful at all times. The relationship between staff and pupils is also a source of great pride for us. Estyn noted, ‘The positive relationship between teachers and pupils is an exceptional feature.’
The wellbeing of both staff and pupils is important to us. We set aside time regularly to ensure that staff and pupil wellbeing sessions are prioritized. We are also proud to be an inclusive school that recognise the needs of each and every pupil. We believe in the saying, ‘Accepting similarities...Celebrating differences.’ We ensure that every pupil and each member of staff know that they are important and valued and that their role in the school community is vital.
Thankyou for visiting these pages and we look forward to partner with you on the journey. Welcome to Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg!
