Free School Meals
Eligibility for free school meal entitlement is provided for parents who are in receipt of certain support payment.
The relevant support payments are:
- Income Support (IS)
- Based Job Seekers Allowance (IBJSA)
- Employment Support Allowance (Income Related) (ESA(IR))
- Support under Part VI of the immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (but not Working Tax Credit) with an annual income (as assessed by the Inland Revenue) not exceeding £16,190
Please note: Children who receive IS or IBJSA in their own right are also eligible to receive free school lunches.
WHAT DO YOU GET?
- Meal of the Day (Set main meal, pudding, drink)
- Or anything up to the value of £2.45
- £2.45 will automatically go onto pupils TAGS each day, the balance does not transfer to the next day if not spent
- Any breaktime purchase will be taken off the daily balance.
- For anonymity reasons, when any pupil presents a TAG to the kitchen till their balance will not appear, only the pupils name. The pupil can check their balance on the cash loading machine or by asking a member of the kitchen staff.
